Project 12 Portraits | Moody Black & White

This month’s Project 12 goal was to shoot a black and white photo that would envoke emotion. My boys are pretty happy go lucky guys so I had a hard time thinking of a natural situation that would suit a moody photo. Then the unthinkable (in our house, anyway!) happened. The “wobie”, became injured beyond repair. Wobie has been my little guy’s blanket since he was a baby and he still cannot sleep without it. He truly loves it. It is ripped beyond repair, most likely, but he is still carrying it around. I have tried having him keep it on his pillow to prolong it’s life, but that’s not an option yet. I wanted to get some shots of him with Wobie while we still can, and this is a stage I really wanted to document.
Please visit the blog of Christine Blaylock to view to the gorgeous black and whites of her family. Continue through the circle, the ladies outdid themselves this month!

Oh, these are so precious. His “wobie.” That is the cutest thing ever! Love your lighting. Works so well with black and white.

Awww! Love the sweetness in these. I think the softness of the images contribute to the feel- love the processing.

The W Family | Orange County Lifestyle Newborn Photographer

A few weeks after our hospital session, I photographed the W Family in their home with new baby Jovie. I love doing in home sessions, and this family was so much fun. The girls are just beautiful and I love the photos of them together. We also took my favorite full family portrait ever, complete with Roper the dog and Harry the tortoise!

This one was a bit of a challenge – I shot at 12,800 ISO and f/13 to get everyone in focus and keep my shutter speed high enough to capture Roper! It’s a bit noisy, but I can’t complain about the 5DMIII’s capabilities, that’s for sure!

Baby Jovie | Orange County Fresh 48 Photographer|Hospital Newborn

The end of the school year is always crazy, and this one has been especially so! I promise I am getting caught up blogging all of my recent sessions. The best part about this past spring has been…babies! Most of my sessions this year have been families and children, but I just wrapped up photographing my third newborn in a row. I am loving shooting babies with their families in a more relaxed, natural style. This is the first of two newborn sessions I photographed of this family this spring. I captured them in the hospital the day after Jovie was born and soaked up all of her newness! Her family adores her, especially her big sister. Their in-home session will be coming soon.

The M Family | San Juan Capistrano Maternity Photographer

I was so excited to photograph this family! I love photographing expecting families, it is one of my favorite sessions to do – and Mom is beautiful! Also, I have to say I was really looking forward to photographing the boys, too. I’ve known them for a couple of years and they are among the sweetest and best behaved boys I know (check out those big brown eyes!).

A Little Baseball | Everyday Moments Blog Circle

The boys have been doing baseball this season and it has been so much fun! They are playing in the Rookie and T-ball divisions, and they have been loving it. I think they are enjoying the social factor just as much as the game. The dugout is the place to be around here:). My little guy loves being the honorary mascot of big brother’s team. We are sad for the season to end, but looking forward the end of season parties and closing day.
