Fields of Honor | The Grateful Project | Orange County, CA Photographer

The boys and I went to visit the Fields of Honor in Newport Beach this month to commemorate Memorial Day. I thought this would be a perfect post for the Grateful Project, since we have so much gratitude for those who have kept our country free. It was truly stunning to see, flags going on as far as you can see. 1776 flags in total, many dedicated to a serviceman or servicewoman by their families. We will definitely be going to visit every year!

The A Family | Anaheim Packing House Family Photographer

Since I first checked out the new Anaheim Packing House, I have been wanting to photograph a family there! I was so excited that this family was willing to try out a new spot. I think it was perfect for them – aren’t they a stunning family?

This family is simply awesome. I love how they always have fresh ideas for their family portraits. This year we met up with a vintage VW bus for our backdrop, and it was so fun! The kids loved piling into it. It rained most of the day, but we lucked out and it stopped just in time! This year, they have added another sweet baby girl to their family. I love watching the big brothers take care of their sisters, they do such a good job.

The Grateful Project: February | Orange County, CA Family Photographer

Thinking of a topic for this month’s grateful project was so easy for me! I am grateful for photography and my camera. I had just gone through ALL of our family photos from the last 5 years or so, cleaning up our hard drive and backing everything up in yet another place. As I looked back over the 1,000s of photos I realized I just would not have these if I hadn’t started pursuing photography. Of course I have all the snapshots from milestones, birthdays, and trips – but most of my favorite photos of my boys were taken because I was trying to become a better photographer. Assignments, blog circle projects, and meet ups with other photograpers – suprisingly this is when I took most of the photos of my boys that I love – that represent those little moments that I want to remember. Now, in what is certainly my most image heavy post ever – here are some of those favorites. Visit the blog of Melissa Deakin|WNY Newborn and Family Photographer, and then follow through the circle. As always, the images are beautiful!

I love every single one of them! You’re right, photography is such a special gift for the keepsake of memories. Each one of these is so special. Love your post this month! I’m inspired to start cleaning my hard drives to see what treasures I find.

These are all so great! Love seeing the changes through the years (and love seeing some from our meetups too!). We are so blessed to be photographers and have so many wonderful memories saved through our photos. <3

You are so right – photography is a life long journey and all of those blog circles and assignments really forced us to create beautiful images. I loved looking through these – several just made me laugh out loud (the orange smile) and some just made me feel love ( the very first and the one with grandpa). How lucky you are to have all of these tender memories and that photography found us some how. Loved looking at all of these!
