The Grateful Project: January | Orange County, CA Family Photographer

I have been part of a wonderful blog circle for the last two years and I am so happy we are continuing this year. We decided on The Grateful Project as our focus this year. Each month we will photograph something that we are grateful for, big or small. As a theme, I think it is perfect – and I am so grateful for this group. I recently went through all of my photographs from the last few years, organizing and backing up again. I noticed that the best images I have of my kids were taken as part of our project and I am very appreciative of that – as well as just having these fabulous ladies there for support.
This month I am grateful for rain. We have been in such a severe drought, that any rain is so welcome. I hope we get much, much more. While what we have gotten is not nearly enough, it is so nice to see everything turn green again and all the fresh, new growth. My boys and I visited Riley Wilderness Park just a month ago, and it looks like a completely different place. So beautiful!

Love Riley and that gorgeous light!!! Ah, the sunflare! And your boys look adorable, like always too. Aren’t we lucky to live in such a wonderful place?

Kimberly, these are beautiful! I love the simplicity in them, too. I’m glad you got some rain, but I’m pretty sure you’re under snow right now, right?!? Lovely as always.

Kimberly–these are such amazing images and what a breathtaking location! I love your words–most people wouldn’t be thankful for rain unless they’ve experienced a drought like you have. I hope more is on its way. Looking forward to another photographic journey with you!
