This was my second time shooting a homecoming at Camp Pendleton. I knew from the first email that I was going to love photographing this family. Mom told me their story and sent photos of her family – they were just adorable. The logistics of shooting these can be hard because they can change quickly – but I knew I had to make it work for this family! Baby Benson had been born one week after his daddy deployed -so it would be their very first time meeting! Big sister was equally excited to see her daddy again. The media in San Diego was there to document the homecoming for the nightly news, and my family was interviewed! A great day overall.
