This month’s Project 12 blog circle theme was soulful. Soulful….hmmm….to me that can mean so many things. When I was thinking of what to shoot for this challenge, I kept picturing a somber face with large, expressive eyes. With my kiddos, that just wasn’t going to happen! Truthfully, I don’t think it would be “them” too often. When I think of soul and kids, I think of playing. That is what should be most joyous and what they are meant to do at 6 and 8 years old. So, I set out with my boys to play. We played at the park during baseball practice, and I managed to get some images I liked of my little man. The big man is suffering of a long term case of PCS (Photographer’s Child Syndrome), especially when his friends are present (not my best laid plan!). I hope to get started early next month and feature my big guy for a change.

Oh I love the first one! Your son is so darn cute! I love his hair.
Oh, he’s presh! I love the last one! As the mom of a boy, I think boys faces are SO telling. Love these!
Kimberly, these are both fantastic! I especially love his sweet expression in that last one–just adorable!
Joyous indeed! I love these!I love the environment that you photographed him in too. Also very telling of where he is at this stage of life! 🙂
Kid + happy + play = soulful! Perfect!! How true is that statement, the soul of a kid is most definitely play! I love the images especially the second one!
He is just too cute for words! Love the environmental portrait style you choose this month!
I like the environmental style of your shoot this month… I think we forget all too quickly what elementary school looked or felt like. That flag wall is totally rockin’ and your boys hair is a dream! Great shots!
