Kern River Trip

This past weekend we ventured up to Kernville to visit Grandpa Skeen. It’s so nice to come up here, it is just so peaceful and beautiful. Before we had our little guys we would spend the day jet skiing on Lake Isabella or rafting the river. Now, we have to get a bit more creative. We went for walks by the river, visited the fish hatchery, and tried fishing for the first time. My boys are little nature and science lovers, so they had a great time exploring. Of course, we also spent some quality time with Grandpa and ate way too much comfort food!

My big guy was intense and took it very seriously. He did really well! He didn’t catch anything, but didn’t seem to mind. A neighboring fisherman gave him one of his fish, which G dutifully put back in the river (my little self proclaimed vegetarian!).

My little man was more interested in playing around, maybe next year!
