The T Family | Yorba Linda Regional Park Photographer

I love this family so much! I just thought I would start this post with that declaration:-). The boys are more fun every year I shoot them and it is so fun to see how much they have grown. I love watching their family dynamic, these are some lucky boys for sure.

Macro Monday | Halloween Creepy Crawlies!

I purchased the Canon 100/2.8L macro lens last winter, and I am just now dedicating myself to learning it’s full macro capabiities! It is a beautiful portrait lens, and I am excited to learn how to use it to it’s full potential on macro subjects. I decided to give myself an extra push and do a macro post at least once a month. We had two gorgeous garden spiders in our front yard this month that were perfect subjects! My boys were just fascinated with them, and it was perfect timing with Halloween right around the corner. We identified them as a Banded Garden Spider and a Black and Yellow Striped Garden Spider. Aren’t they beautiful?

Camera Shy Challenge | Laguna Niguel Family Photographer

There has been a challenge going on for a few months now on my photography forum Clickin Moms called the Camera Shy Challenge. Most of us on the forum are moms, and we want to capture as many day to day moments with our kids that we can. Luckily for us, we have so many options at our fingertips to do this, like our smartphones. It is tempting to break out the big camera, but a little intimidating to do so as well. This challenge is about respectfully photographing our kids in public places. A popular shopping trip my boys love is Petsmart and Barnes & Noble, we can’t visit one without the other! They love Petsmart because they can watch the dogs in the daycare playing. I was able to take a few photos that I love in both places – so glad this challenge encouraged me to do it!

Clickin Walk 2012 | San Juan Capistrano Family Photographer

This past weekend I had the pleasure of leading Clickin Walk 2012 with my partner Allison Jacobs. Clickin Moms is a wonderful photography forum that I have been a part of for over two years.  I have learned so much there, both from the forum and workshops. It was great to meet some of our fellow photographers in person! It is also so much fun to view everyone’s photos after the walk. It is very inspiring to see different takes of the same places. Here are some of my favorites from the walk.
